Types of Data Collected

Among the types of Personal Data that Vexa collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: Cookies; Usage Data; unique device identifiers for advertising (such as Google Advertising ID or IDFA); geographic position; device information; region/geography; number of users; number of sessions; session duration; application opens; application updates; first launches; operating systems; email address; first name; last name; various types of data; address; password; and country.

Complete details on each type of Personal Data collected are provided in the dedicated sections of this privacy policy, or through specific explanations displayed prior to data collection. Personal Data may be freely provided by the user or, in the case of Usage Data, collected automatically when using Vexa.

Unless otherwise specified, all Data requested by Vexa is mandatory. Failure to provide mandatory Data may make it impossible for Vexa to provide its services. Where Vexa specifically states that certain Data is optional, users are free not to provide it without affecting the availability or functionality of the service.

Users who are unsure about which Personal Data is mandatory may contact the Owner for clarification.

Any use of Cookies or tracking tools by Vexa, or by third-party services used by Vexa, is intended to provide the service required by the user, in addition to purposes described in this document and, if available, in the Cookie Policy.

Users are responsible for any third-party Personal Data obtained, published, or shared through Vexa and confirm that they have the third party’s consent to provide such Data to the Owner.

Method and place of data processing

Methods of processing

The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction of the Data.

The Data processing is carried out using computers and/or IT-enabled tools, in accordance with organizational procedures and methods strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Owner, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge, involved in the operation of Vexa (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, postal companies, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner. The updated list of these parties can be requested from the Owner at any time.

Legal basis for processing

The Owner may process Personal Data relating to Users if one of the following applies:

  • The Users have given their consent for one or more specific purposes. Note: Under some legislations, the Owner may be allowed to process Personal Data until the User objects to such processing (“opt-out”), without having to rely on consent or any of the following legal bases. However, this does not apply, whenever the processing of Personal Data is subject to European data protection law;
  • If the provision of the Data is necessary for the performance of an agreement with the User and/or for any pre-contractual obligations thereof;
  • If the Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the Owner is subject;
  • If the Processing is related to a task that is carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Owner;
  • If the Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner or by a third party.

In any case, the Owner will be happy to help clarify the specific legal basis that applies to the Processing, and in particular whether the provision of Personal Data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract.

Location

The Data is processed at the Owner’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the Processing are located.

Depending on the User’s location, data transfers may involve transferring the User’s Data to a country other than their own. To learn more about where such transferred data is processed, Users may refer to the section containing details about the processing of personal data.

Users are also entitled to learn about the legal basis for data transfer to a country outside the European Union or to any international organization governed by public international law or established by two or more States, such as the United Nations, and about the security measures taken by the Owner to protect their data.

If any such transfer takes place, Users may learn more by consulting the relevant sections of this document or by asking the Owner using the information provided in the contact section.

Retention period

Personal data shall be processed and stored for as long as the purpose for which it was collected requires it.

Therefore:

  • Personal data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between the Owner and the User shall be retained until such contract has been fully performed.
  • Personal data collected for the purposes of the Owner’s legitimate interests shall be retained for as long as is necessary to achieve those purposes. Users can find specific information about the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner within the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.

The Owner may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent has not been withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to do so for the performance of a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

Once the retention period expires, the Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after the expiry of the retention period.

The Data concerning the User is collected to allow the Owner to provide its Services, as well as for the following purposes: Analytics, Registration and authentication, Infrastructure monitoring, Advertising, Managing contacts and sending messages, Social features, Location-based interactions, Platform services and hosting, SPAM protection, Contacting the User, Displaying content from external platforms, Hosting and backend infrastructure, Handling payments and Interaction with external social networks and platforms.

Personal Data is collected for the following purposes and using the following services:

Advertising

This type of service allows User Data to be utilized for advertising communication purposes displayed in the form of banners and other advertisements on Vexa, possibly based on User interests.
This does not mean that all Personal Data are used for this purpose. Information and conditions of use are shown below.
Some of the services listed below may use Cookies to identify Users or they may use the behavioral retargeting technique, i.e. displaying ads tailored to the User’s interests and behavior, including those detected outside Vexa. For more information, please check the privacy policies of the relevant services.
In addition to any opt out offered by any of the services below, the User may opt out of a third-party service's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

  • Fyber (SponsorPay GmbH)

    Fyber is an advertising service provided by Fyber GmbH.

    Tapjoy, Inc. ("Tapjoy") operates an ad network platform that allows app developers to serve ads within their apps, and advertisers to promote their products, and services within apps.

    "Playtime (adjoe) is a third feature that is integrated with our app. Playtime allows users to earn in-app currency by playing third-party games and collects devices' application usage from users. The processing of the data is necessary to recommend, via system messages, the installation of the app available in Playtime that matches users' interests and calculates the bonuses acquired as a result of users' use of the corresponding apps.     CPX Research is a market research platform that connects websites and apps with buyers of market research data. It allows users to earn rewards by participating in surveys. The platform integrates with various websites and apps, displaying surveys that users can complete to earn points or cash.

    Our app communicates with third-party servers such as rewardtime.app to retrieve offers and process user tasks. No personal information is shared unless necessary to operate the service.

Analytics

The services contained in this section enable the Owner to monitor and analyze web traffic and can be used to keep track of User behavior.

  • Google Analytics (Google Inc.)

    Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of Vexa, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services.
    Google may use the Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

  • Google Analytics for Firebase

    Google Analytics for Firebase or Firebase Analytics is an analytics service provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from.
    In order to understand Google's use of Data, consult Google's partner policy.

    Firebase Analytics may share Data with other tools provided by Firebase, such as Crash Reporting, Authentication, Remote Config or Notifications. The User may check this privacy policy to find a detailed explanation about the other tools used by the Owner.

    Vexa uses identifiers for mobile devices and technologies similar to cookies to run the Firebase Analytics service.

    Users may opt-out of certain Firebase features through applicable device settings, such as the device advertising settings for mobile phones or by following the instructions in other Firebase related sections of this privacy policy, if available.

  • User ID extension for Google Analytics

    Google Analytics on Vexa makes use of a feature called User ID. This setup allows for a more accurate tracking of Users by associating that User with the same ID over various sessions and devices. It is set up in a way that doesn’t allow Google to personally identify an individual or permanently identify a particular device.
    The User ID extension might make it possible to connect Data from Google Analytics with other Data about the User collected by Vexa.
    The opt-out link below will only opt you out for the device you are on, but not from tracking performed independently by the Owner. Contact the Owner via the email address provided in this privacy policy to object to the aforementioned tracking as well.

    Google Analytics Demographics and Interests reports is a Google Advertising Reporting feature that makes available demographic and interests Data inside Google Analytics for Vexa (demographics means age and gender Data).

    Users can opt out of Google's use of cookies by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

    Vexa uses an internal analytics system that does not involve third parties.

    Google Ads conversion tracking is an analytics service provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from, that connects data from the Google Ads advertising network with actions performed on Vexa.

Contacting the User

  • Contact form (Vexa)

    By filling in the contact form with their Data, the User authorizes Vexa to use these details to reply to requests for information, quotes or any other kind of request as indicated by the form’s header.

Displaying content from external platforms

This type of service allows you to view content hosted on external platforms directly from the pages of Vexa and interact with them.
This type of service might still collect web traffic data for the pages where the service is installed, even when Users do not use it.

Handling payments

Unless otherwise specified, Vexa processes any payments by credit card, bank transfer or other means via external payment service providers. In general and unless where otherwise stated, Users are requested to provide their payment details and personal information directly to such payment service providers. Vexa isn't involved in the collection and processing of such information: instead, it will only receive a notification by the relevant payment service provider as to whether payment has been successfully completed.

    PayPal is a payment service provided by PayPal Inc., which allows Users to make online payments.

Hosting and backend infrastructure

This type of service has the purpose of hosting Data and files that enable Vexa to run and be distributed as well as to provide a ready-made infrastructure to run specific features or parts of Vexa.

Some services among those listed below, if any, may work through geographically distributed servers, making it difficult to determine the actual location where the Personal Data are stored.

Infrastructure monitoring

This type of service allows Vexa to monitor the use and behavior of its components so its performance, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting can be improved.
Which Personal Data are processed depends on the characteristics and mode of implementation of these services, whose function is to filter the activities of Vexa.

  • Crashlytics (Google Inc.)

    Crashlytics is a monitoring service provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from.

    Personal Data collected: geographic position; unique device identifiers for advertising (Google Advertiser ID or IDFA, for example); various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service.

Interaction with external social networks and platforms

This type of service allows interaction with social networks or other external platforms directly from the pages of Vexa.
The interaction and information obtained through Vexa are always subject to the User’s privacy settings for each social network.
This type of service might still collect traffic data for the pages where the service is installed, even when Users do not use it.
It is recommended to log out from the respective services in order to make sure that the processed data on Vexa isn’t being connected back to the User’s profile.

  • Twitter Tweet button and social widgets (Twitter, Inc.)

    The Twitter Tweet button and social widgets are services allowing interaction with the Twitter social network provided by Twitter, Inc.

Location-based interactions

  • Non-continuous geolocation (Vexa)

    Vexa may collect, use, and share User location Data in order to provide location-based services.
    Most browsers and devices provide tools to opt out from this feature by default. If explicit authorization has been provided, the User’s location data may be tracked by Vexa.
    The geographic location of the User is determined in a manner that isn't continuous, either at the specific request of the User or when the User doesn't point out its current location in the appropriate field and allows the application to detect the position automatically.

Managing contacts and sending messages

This type of service makes it possible to manage a database of email contacts, phone contacts or any other contact information to communicate with the User.
These services may also collect data concerning the date and time when the message was viewed by the User, as well as when the User interacted with it, such as by clicking on links included in the message.

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging

    Firebase Cloud Messaging is a message sending service provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from. Firebase Cloud Messaging allows the Owner to send messages and notifications to Users across platforms such as Android, iOS, and the web. Messages can be sent to single devices, groups of devices, or specific topics or User segments.

  • Firebase Notifications

    Firebase Notifications is a message sending service provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from. Firebase Notifications can be integrated with Firebase Analytics to target analytics-based audiences and track opening and conversion events.

  • Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon)

    Amazon Simple Email Service is an email address management and message sending service provided by Amazon.com Inc.

Platform services and hosting

These services have the purpose of hosting and running key components of Vexa, therefore allowing the provision of Vexa from within a unified platform. Such platforms provide a wide range of tools to the Owner – e.g. analytics, user registration, commenting, database management, e-commerce, payment processing – that imply the collection and handling of Personal Data.
Some of these services work through geographically distributed servers, making it difficult to determine the actual location where the Personal Data are stored.

  • Google Play Store

    Vexa is distributed on the Google Play Store, a platform for the distribution of mobile apps, provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from.

    By virtue of being distributed via this app store, Google collects usage and diagnostics data and share aggregate information with the Owner. Much of this information is processed on an opt-in basis.

Registration and authentication

By registering or authenticating, Users allow Vexa to identify them and give them access to dedicated services.
Depending on what is described below, third parties may provide registration and authentication services. In this case, Vexa will be able to access some Data, stored by these third party services, for registration or identification purposes.

    Google OAuth is a registration and authentication service provided by Google Inc. and is connected to the Google network.

  • Direct registration (Vexa)

    The User registers by filling out the registration form and providing the Personal Data directly to Vexa.

  • Firebase Dynamic Links

    Firebase Dynamic Links is a social feature provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from. Dynamic Links are tracked within Firebase or Google Analytics for Firebase, which informs the Owner about the details of the User journey to and within Vexa.

  • Firebase Invites

    Firebase Invites is a social feature provided by Google LLC or by Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location Vexa is accessed from, that enables Users to share Vexa. The sharing may contain referral codes, or content from within Vexa and may be done via email or SMS. Sharing is tracked with Google Analytics for Firebase, which informs the Owner that the User has opened or installed Vexa via invite.

  • Inviting and suggesting friends (Vexa)

    Vexa may use the Personal Data provided to allow Users to invite their friends - for example through the address book, if access has been provided - and to suggest friends or connections inside it.

Users declare themselves to be adult according to their applicable legislation. Minors may use Vexa only with the assistance of a parent or guardian. Under no circumstance persons under the age of 13 may use Vexa.

Vexa may send push notifications to the User to achieve the purposes outlined in this privacy policy.

Users may in most cases opt-out of receiving push notifications by visiting their device settings, such as the notification settings for mobile phones, and then change those settings for Vexa, some or all of the apps on the particular device.
Users must be aware that disabling push notifications may negatively affect the utility of Vexa.

Vexa may use the User's geographic location to send push notifications for the purposes outlined in this privacy policy.

Users may in most cases opt-out of receiving push notifications by visiting their device settings, such as the notification settings for mobile phones, and then changing those settings for some or all of the apps on the particular device.

Users must be aware that disabling push notifications may negatively affect the utility of Vexa.

The rights of Users

Users may exercise certain rights regarding their Data processed by the Owner.

In particular, Users have the right to do the following:

  • Withdraw their consent at any time. Users have the right to withdraw consent where they have previously given their consent to the processing of their Personal Data.
  • Object to processing of their Data. Users have the right to object to the processing of their Data if the processing is carried out on a legal basis other than consent. Further details are provided in the dedicated section below.
  • Access their Data. Users have the right to learn if Data is being processed by the Owner, obtain disclosure regarding certain aspects of the processing and obtain a copy of the Data undergoing processing.
  • Verify and seek rectification. Users have the right to verify the accuracy of their Data and ask for it to be updated or corrected.
  • Restrict the processing of their Data. Users have the right, under certain circumstances, to restrict the processing of their Data. In this case, the Owner will not process their Data for any purpose other than storing it.
  • Have their Personal Data deleted or otherwise removed. Users have the right, under certain circumstances, to obtain the erasure of their Data from the Owner.

Users must know that, however, should their Personal Data be processed for direct marketing purposes, they can object to that processing at any time without providing any justification. The User declares to be aware that the Owner may be required to reveal personal data upon request of public authorities.

System logs and maintenance

For operation and maintenance purposes, Vexa and any third-party services may collect files that record interaction with Vexa (System logs) use other Personal Data (such as the IP Address) for this purpose.

How “Do Not Track” requests are handled

Vexa does not support “Do Not Track” requests.

Changes to this privacy policy

The Owner reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by giving notice to its Users on this page and possibly within Vexa and/or - as far as technically and legally feasible - sending a notice to Users via any contact information available to the Owner. It is strongly recommended to check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification listed at the bottom.

Should the changes affect processing activities performed on the basis of the User’s consent, the Owner shall collect new consent from the User, where required.

    Any information that directly, indirectly, or in connection with other information — including a personal identification number — allows for the identification or identifiability of a natural person.

    Information collected automatically through Vexa (or third-party services employed in Vexa), which can include: the IP addresses or domain names of the computers utilized by the Users who use Vexa, the URI addresses (Uniform Resource Identifier), the time of the request, the method utilized to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server's answer (successful outcome, error, etc.), the country of origin, the features of the browser and the operating system utilized by the User, the various time details per visit (e.g., the time spent on each page within the Application) and the details about the path followed within the Application with special reference to the sequence of pages visited, and other parameters about the device operating system and/or the User's IT environment.

  • User

    The individual using Vexa who, unless otherwise specified, coincides with the Data Subject.

  • Data Subject

    The natural person to whom the Personal Data refers.

  • Data Processor (or Data Supervisor)

    The natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes Personal Data on behalf of the Controller, as described in this privacy policy.

  • Data Controller (or Owner)

    The natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of Personal Data, including the security measures concerning the operation and use of Vexa.
